ARTIST STATEMENT
A horse is the projection of peoples' dreams about themselves - strong, powerful, beautiful - and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence.-Pam Brown
The horse is an exceptional subject. Powerful and immensely strong, yet quiet, kind and exceptionally intuitive. To capture this, is to capture the very essence of his being.
Only through hours spent feeling, smelling and seeing can one truly capture the horse. Each piece is distilled from these hours spent with the herd. The challenge is to create a piece that has movement and stillness, just as a horse does.  In my daily work I live and breath horses. I own and run a 92 acre horse rescue with my partner of 15 years. We specialize in saving horse that are destined for slaughter in Canada. Each day brings new challenges with the horses under our care. I continue to sculpt and define those images and challenges that are the Horse.
